At the Ghana Music Awards held this year at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Piesie Esther finally received her first honor after 20 years: Gospel Song of the Year.

Piesie Esther received seven nominations in the categories of Female Vocalist of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year.

She faced up against artists including Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, and Joe Mettle for the Artiste of the Year award.

The Gospel Song of the Year award went to Piesie Esther as well.
