Following an invitation to founder Archbishop Charles Agyinasare from the traditional leaders of Nogokpo, a town in the Volta Region of Ghana, Perez Chapel International has proclaimed a one-week fasting and prayer session for all members.

On Friday, June 2, opinion leader Nufialaga Mawufemor Korbla Nonyigbey charged Archbishop Agyinasare with exhibiting no remorse in his second sermon after referring to the town as the Volta Region’s center for demons.

After the chiefs and residents of Nogokpo expressed worry about his reference to the town, the man of God reportedly apologized, saying that he had not intended to “denigrate any of the towns and their people but to elucidate the principle of divine protection to congregants.”

“Any misrepresentation or misinformation that has characterized the subsequent commentary and reportage is regretted. My Ministry over the past 40 years has been one that has spoken up at critical times in our Nation as a spiritual gatekeeper and I remain committed to serving God’s people and our Nation as the spirit directs.”

However, during the press conference, Nufialaga Mawufemor Korbla Nonyigbey issued an invitation for Archbishop Agyinasare to appear before the traditional council within 14 days.

The church’s Presiding Bishop, Rt. Rev. Ohene Benjamin Aboagye, stated on Sunday, June 4, that the fasting and prayers will begin on Monday, June 5.

The event is expected to end on June 11th, Sunday.
