In the Ga South Municipality, a structure collapsed, resulting in the premature death of one person and the injuries of four others.

The structure, which was still under construction, was a part of the Greater Accra Region’s Restoration Health Birth Care Centre in Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality.

Hannah Lomotey, a retired midwife and the facility’s owner, along with four other people, were looking for refuge beneath the storey structure amid a torrential downpour.

The sad tragedy also resulted in the critical injuries of four additional people.

But after it was carved in, the shelter turned into a source of harm for the five individuals.

The victims were rescued and transported to the hospital with assistance from the Awutu Senya East Municipal Fire Command.

The four injured people were transferred to the Kasoa Polyclinic after the building fell, while Hannah Lomotey’s lifeless body was taken to the mortuary.

D03 Marcel Avedu, the fire commander for the Awutu Senya East Municipality, who was a member of the rescue crew, expressed concern about the situation of the injured people.
