The Bagre Dam spillover in neighboring Burkina Faso is being warned about by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).

The water level at the Bagre dam is rising quickly, and NADMO is requesting that the locals relocate to higher ground.

According to a statement from NADMO, the dam’s water level as of September 8, 2023, was 235.06 meters, compared to 235 meters for spilling.

Additionally, NADMO advised farmers and locals to be cautious of reptiles because they are also fighting for survival.

“Following report received from our development partners in Burkina Faso (SONABEL ENERGY) about the spillage of the Bagre Dam, we hereby wish to announce for the information of the general public to be on the alert and move to higher grounds,” the release said.
